Jules and I went on a hike up in the hills yesterday. I brought my video camera and shot random things during the trip. Here they are:

Harry Potter

So I’m a little late to the bandwagon. I’d more or less kept up with the harry potter series during these past few years. But I only recently (as in two weeks ago) got around to reading the final and seventh book. It had been so long that I actually went back to the volume 1-6 again to refresh my memory. I got all of them in hardback for 7$ apiece courtesy of half price books. Yay. I made pretty quick work of them during my bus commutes to and from school these past two weeks. Which kind of tells you how much time I spend waiting around for buses. Okay, okay, I read them at home too. But I think the majority of my reading was done en route. I enjoyed the ending, and thought it was pretty fitting. And whiIe I can think of a number of books that I value more, they are still entertaining, fun reads. Off the top of my head, three books that I can think of that I have read most often (as in +4 times) is ‘Ender’s Game’, by Orson Scott Card; ‘Me Talk Pretty One Day’, by David Sedaris; and ‘Feeding A Yen’, by Calvin Trillin. Two of them are composed of short personal essays (absolutely hilarious, I tell you), and one is in the good old science fiction category. Yay books.

Stoner vs Rossi

Found this better version of the Rossi vs Stoner battle from Laguna Seca by the people at MotoGP.com. However, they disabled embedding. Why would you do that? Who runs that stupid motogp website? What a bunch of jerks. Their website is subscription based, and their content on youtube is embed disabled. Here I am trying to promote their content and they don’t even let me.

Unfortunately I liked the video enough to work around the disabled embedding… *sigh*

update: okay i guess i can’t embed it like that… back to MotoGP.com being jerks.

“It’s because they’re crazy,” she muttered under her breathe as she impatiently darted from lane to lane under the grass-is-always-greener freeway mentality. On the radio NPR was previewing a segment on increasing motorcycle rider fatalities despite lower overall traffic accidents. Yes, I’m sure they all must be crazy and it has nothing to do with car drivers. Well, at least we motorcycle riders check our blind spots. I’ll think I’ll skip her the next time she comes up as my casual carpool driver.
